Memories of Susan by Paul Houghtaling

I am so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I studied with her at Clark and NEC and I was lucky enough to get a letter from her just last month. She was so special to many, many singers and influenced several generations of artists and teachers. What an impact she had on me, my career and my life. Even before I was a student at NEC, when I was a student at Holy Cross, I would take the Consortium shuttle across the city to have an 8 AM lesson with Susan at Clark. I learned so much from her. All of my current, former and future students are a part of her as well as there are still phrases, ideas and knowledge I got from her that I use every day.
