A Tribute from Lorraine DiSimone
Susan was my voice teacher at NEC 1980-1982 and then privately for a little while after. She suggested me for my first real job as an adjunct at Clark University and we tried to see each other when I was in the Boston area. The last time was about 16 years ago but we always kept in touch through Christmas cards. I will always cherish those cards from her. She touched so many lives and was a rock and an inspiration to hundreds of young singers. I still have her markings (in her hand) in some of my music. 8AM technique lessons with her made me into a singer who was never afraid of singing in the mornings! She lives on in all of us. She was a treasure and I will always be grateful I was lucky enough to have known her!
