Susan quietly left her incredible life on April 1st, 2021 just two weeks before her 87th birthday. So many people have expressed their sadness, shared stories and reminded us of all the many sides of Susan Fisher Clickner. She would be uncomfortable with all the attention, but we’d like to share everything with the people whose lives she touched…

She always said that she knew from an early age that singing would become her life. A graduate of Indiana University and the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music, she performed as a soloist with the Boston Symphony Orchestra under conductor Seiji Ozawa, performed at Lincoln Center and the Paris Opera House, toured Europe singing at leading music festivals including Lucerne and Salzburg, was chair of Classical Voice at The New England Conservatory of Music and taught hundreds of highly successful singers throughout her career.

“First the place, then the space and all in the front of the face.”
